The Global NASH/MASH Council (GNC) and the Global Liver Council (GLC) are pleased to announce that 21 abstracts from our collaborative research programs have been accepted for presentation at The Liver Meeting 2026, the annual meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), taking place this November in Denver, Colorado.
The accepted work includes:
4 Oral Presentations
4 Posters of Distinction
13 Posters
Together these studies span the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, patient-reported outcomes, and economic burden of steatotic liver disease, viral hepatitis, and liver transplantation across global populations.
What unites this body of work is its scale and its reach. The GNC and GLC were established on the conviction that liver disease is a global problem that cannot be understood, much less solved, from any single country or health system. The abstracts presented here reflect that conviction in practice: multinational surveys of clinical practice spanning dozens of countries across six continents, pooled registry and cohort analyses linking data from North America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region, and global genetic and biomarker studies made possible only by investigators willing to contribute data and expertise to a shared effort.
These collaborations bring together hepatologists, epidemiologists, methodologists, health economists, and patient-outcomes researchers from academic centers, public health institutions, and clinical practices worldwide. By pairing that breadth with consistent methodology, our councils are able to produce evidence that is genuinely generalizable, that captures the disparities and regional differences too often lost in single-country studies, and that can inform policy and clinical guidance in the very settings where the burden of liver disease is growing fastest. We congratulate and thank all of our collaborating members, and partners around the world, whose sustained commitment made this collective achievement possible.
